Kids Connect

We offer different options for all age groups of kids. We hope your family will find a welcoming place for each member!

We do not have Kid Zone Sunday School during the summer for kids in Kindergarten – 5th grade. They remain in the service with their families.

We do provide engaging activities that help kids listen to the sermon and participate in the service in our Shalom Kids’ Kits that you can grab before the worship service.

We ask that you return any items that can be reused, such as fidget toys, crayons, stencils, books, etc. You can leave them in the black bag, and hang it back on the rack after the service. Any papers or projects your child makes are more than welcome to be taken home.

Throughout the school year we have Sunday School for Kindergarten – 5th grade during the sermon portion of the worship service. They begin the morning sitting with their families and joining the church family in the singing, prayer, and offering time of the service, then are dismissed for age-appropriate worship during the sermon.

We have a combined infant and toddler nursery that is staffed every week by wonderful volunteers. Infants 6 months and older are welcome in the nursery. Younger infants are also welcomed depending on the parents’ preference. We also have an “infant nursery” room that is unstaffed, but parents are welcome to use it to watch the service while their child plays if this is a space needed before you feel comfortable bringing your child to the larger nursery.

We use the Young Children & Worship curriculum for our preschool-aged children age 3 through Transitional Kindergarten. They start off each worship service with their families to experience worship as a church family, and then they are dismissed after offering year-round to attend Children & Worship with other preschoolers. There are a few holiday weekends we do not offer Children & Worship, but it is available most Sundays of the year.

Children & Worship has singing, a Bible story using wooden figures, a craft or activity, and a snack. Our preschoolers love to attend Children & Worship at Shalom! Parents may stay the first few weeks if your child feels more comfortable as they get used to the space, but we do ask that after a few weeks that you return to the service as our volunteers will make sure your child is well taken care of!
